New departure for Thermologistic
Frankfurt-based temperature-controlled logistics company gets groupage transport up and running
Frankfurt am Main – June 9, 2021 – Thermologistic is venturing into less-than-truckload freight and partial load transports. The Frankfurt-based temperature-controlled logistics company is thus responding to the current strong demand in these segments. Initially, the company will offer daily scheduled services between Germany and Eastern Europe, including the Balkans and Turkey. The routes will primarily cover transportation of dry cargo such as machine parts, electronics or textiles.
The new service above all targets customers with smaller consignments to various destinations. Groupage transport is a cost-efficient solution for direct freight shipments. The service will operate both to and from Germany. Thermologistic aims to avoid empty runs through its tried-and-tested MRP system.
In addition to pure transport services, Thermologistic also handles export clearance within the scope of the T1 transit procedure. This involves recording information about the consignor and consignee, as well as the weight of the consignment, the number of packages and/or the customs tariff, thus allowing for seamless tracking of freight shipments between consignor and consignee. The motto for the entire service is: everything from a single source.
Thermologistic CEO Bernd Schmied believes that expanding this business segment will enable him to harness high growth potential for his company. “Over the medium term, we expect demand for groupage shipments to continue to rise. This applies in particular to dry cargo. With the start of regular transports to and from Eastern Europe, we will expand our market position and at the same time strengthen our Kelsterbach site,” the company’s CEO says. „Bei den Sammelguttransporten rechnen wir mittelfristig mit einer weiter steigenden Nachfrage. Dies gilt insbesondere für Trockengüter. Mit der Aufnahme des regelmäßigen Verkehrs von und nach Osteuropa werden wir unsere Marktposition ausbauen und gleichzeitig unseren Standort Kelsterbach stärken“, so der Unternehmenschef.
Thermologistic plans to extend the service to additional routes as required.
